Why insights matter

It was Sherlock Holmes who said “It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.” This quote permeates through the culture at Gopuff. We firmly believe in the power of insights and the imperative of having data-informed strategies before making core business decisions. Just like Sherlock, we tend to be unconventional in our investigations. We approach research as if there was no one right answer — looking across multiple sources to assess the entire landscape of possibilities and using our first hand understanding of our audience(s) to find the right solution. Since our founding, we have been customer obsessed. A laser focus on developing a dynamic customer understanding is our north star. By sustaining a stream of evergreen input from our shoppers — past, present, and future — we can ensure that our product selection, delivery service and overall brand are all based on direct customer intelligence. We believe that data will make our business smarter, stronger, and more strategic by challenging norms and perceptions with insights and truths.

No matter how surprising, quirky or downright shocking some of the insights may seem — as a company, we are committed to letting the data tell us what to do. We relish the moments where our assumptions are proven false with data-driven revelations. Challenging best practices and legacy perceptions of customers is the most powerful part of insights — because it is those revelations that move our business and industry forward.

This blog’s purpose is to share the knowledge that we gather. We believe in the distribution of intelligence because insights are powerful tools that can drive business, build relationships and provoke ideas. We seek to do all three by distributing what we know and why it matters. Internally at Gopuff we believe that no one is too big or too small to deeply understand our customer and we seek to share this wealth of knowledge beyond the walls of our organization. This blog will continue to serve our mission of spreading understanding of the Gopuff customer and business, in order to show how companies like ours can interact with our customers, teams, and the communities we serve.
